CHERRY GRATIN

This tincture has this advantage, that it can be made overnight 1 Day, and yet it is very tasty and aromatic. Pour the ripe cherries into the glazed pot, filling them with ¾ of its capacity.

Fill ¼ of the pot capacity with sugar (can), pour alcohol or vodka or half and half spirit and vodka, depending on whether it is strong or not, or should the casserole be less strong. The spirit should not fill the pot higher than it is on 3 fingers from its edge. Cover the pot with a tightly fitting lid, cover the edges with parchment paper, cover the entire pot with bread dough and put it in the oven overnight, still hot after baking wholemeal bread. Next day, when the stove has cooled down, take out the pot, and strain the tincture thoroughly from the fruit. If you need to, strain the tincture through a flannel bag. Squeeze the rest of the cherry juice through the bag, mix it with the rest of the tincture then, bottle. This way we will get an exquisite tincture, which you can use right after making.
