CHAIR LIQUEUR

Take eight unions, that is, half a pound of juggling seeds, half a grain of cloves, a drop of vanilla oil, soak everything in two quarts of wine spirit for eight days and draw off almost all spirit through distillation. Elsewhere, Dissolve six pounds of sugar in three and a half pounds of clean water and simmer, and in the moment, when the syrup is boiling, blow suddenly and immediately into the clay jug, which contains half a pound of sawdust green charcoal stalks and a half a spoonful of turmeric powder. After this mixture has cooled down, pour two quarts of strong spirit on it: leave it wet for some time, e.g.. for a month and decant the clean liquid from the top. This liqueur is gastric, especially for heavy stomachs. By wanting to make these liqueurs old by art, they have to be placed alternately from a warm room to cold air during the winter. It will happen, that in some bottles the liquid will crystallize, in others, not, and will improve well.
